Terms of Service

Last updated: 31/7/2026

Book in, turn up, tell me what’s going on with your body, and pay for the time you’ve booked. If you need to change an appointment, give me 24 hours’ notice. I’ll do the same for you. What I do sits alongside your medical care, not instead of it, and I can’t promise you a particular outcome.

The rest is the detail. It’s worth reading once.

Intrinsic Performance — Teresa Dixon

1. Who you’re dealing with

I’m Teresa Dixon, a Clinical Neuromuscular Therapist trading as Intrinsic Performance, working from 77 High Street, Masterton, and the Riversdale Beach Health Centre, Waimanaaki Camp, 9 Pinedale Crescent, Riversdale Beach.

teresa@ipcoach.co.nz · 021 029 80420 · ipcoach.co.nz

When these terms say “I” or “me”, that’s who they mean. When they say “you”, that’s the person booking.

2. What these terms cover

These terms apply when you book an appointment, class or coaching block with me.

By booking, you’re agreeing to them. If something here doesn’t work for you, tell me before you book rather than after.

3. What I do — and what I don’t

I provide assessment-led neuromuscular therapy and movement coaching.

This work complements medical and allied-health care. It doesn’t replace it. I’m not a doctor, and I don’t diagnose medical conditions. If something you tell me or something I find suggests you need medical assessment, I’ll say so and refer you on.

ACC isn’t available for my sessions, though I’m happy to work alongside any ACC-funded care you’re receiving.

4. Booking

Appointments are booked online through my booking system, or by contacting me directly.

You’ll get a confirmation by email once your booking is made. If you don’t receive one, assume the booking hasn’t gone through and get in touch.

Reminders are sent before your appointment as a courtesy. Not receiving one isn’t a reason to miss it.

5. What you need to tell me

Before your first appointment you’ll complete a health screening form. Please answer it fully and honestly.

Throughout our work together, please tell me about:

  • Any medical conditions, medications or injuries
  • Anything a doctor or other health professional has advised you to avoid
  • Changes in your symptoms, health or medications
  • If you’re pregnant, or think you might be
  • Anything that’s changed since we last spoke

I can only work safely with what I know. If you withhold something relevant, I may not be able to keep you safe, and I may not be able to continue.

6. Payment

Payment is due at the time of your appointment.

Current prices are on my website and I’ll confirm them with you before we start. At the date of these terms: initial session $180, follow-up session $130, maintenance session $110. If prices change, existing bookings are honoured at the price you booked at.

Coaching blocks are paid in full up front.

If a payment fails or remains unpaid, I may hold further bookings until it’s settled.

7. Changing or cancelling your appointment

Life happens, and I’d always rather move an appointment than have you miss it.

Please give me at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. You can do that through the booking link in your confirmation email, or by contacting me directly.

  • Cancellations with 24 hours’ notice or more: no charge
  • Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice: 50% of the session fee
  • Missed appointments without notice: the full session fee

If something genuinely unavoidable happens — sudden illness, an accident, a family emergency — tell me and I’ll use my judgement. This policy exists because my time is booked in advance and a late cancellation usually can’t be filled, not because I want to charge you when your life goes sideways.

8. If you’re running late

I’ll do what I can, but your appointment will still end at its scheduled time so the person after you isn’t affected. The full fee applies.

If you’re more than 15minutes late, I may need to treat it as a missed appointment.

9. If I need to cancel

If I have to cancel or reschedule, I’ll tell you as soon as I can and offer you the first available alternative. If that doesn’t suit, you’ll get a full refund of anything you’ve paid for that session.

10. When I may decline or end our work together

I may decline a booking, or end our work, if:

  • What you need falls outside what I can safely or competently provide
  • Your safety would be better served by medical or other care
  • Relevant health information has been withheld
  • Behaviour towards me is abusive, threatening or inappropriate
  • Fees remain unpaid

If I end our work for any reason other than the last two, I’ll refund anything you’ve paid for sessions not yet delivered, and I’ll help you find someone better placed to help.

11. Outcomes

I don’t guarantee results.

What I offer is assessment-led, research-informed work, paced to what your body is doing. Many people find it helps. How you respond depends on your history, your circumstances and what else is going on in your life, and none of that is predictable in advance.

I’ll be honest with you about what I think is achievable, and honest if I don’t think it’s working.

12. Liability

I hold professional indemnity insurance.

Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986.

Beyond those rights, I’m not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for outcomes arising from information you didn’t disclose.

13. Your privacy

How I handle your information is set out in my privacy policy. Please read it — it explains what I collect, why, where it’s stored, and your rights to see and correct it.

14. If something goes wrong

Tell me first. Most things are a misunderstanding and I’d rather hear about it directly and put it right.

If we can’t resolve it between us, you can contact the Health and Disability Commissioner, who handles complaints about health and disability services in New Zealand: hdc.org.nz, 0800 11 22 33.

For privacy matters specifically, see my privacy policy.

15. Changes to these terms

I may update these terms from time to time. The version in force when you book is the one that applies to that booking.

16. Governing law

These terms are governed by New Zealand law, and the New Zealand courts have jurisdiction.
